Former Metals Foundry PFAS Sampling

This groundwater sampling project was completed at a former foundry along Lake Michigan. Based on the historic use of the site as a foundry since 1924, the sampling was completed to assess heavy metals and per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) compounds concentrations in the groundwater. The assessment revealed some limited residual metals contamination, and this data will help EPA move forward with their plan to evaluate closing the site or pursuing additional corrective measures.
